TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2011
GOAL SETTING SESSION
Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 9:10 p.m.
PRESENT: Haas, Klein, Petryk, Weidt, Miron
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mike Ericson, Community Development Director Bryan
Bear, Public Works Director Scott Anderson, Parks Planner Shayla Syverson, and City Clerk

At its January 18, 2011 meeting, the Council discussed the goals of the commissions and the Fire
Department and directed staff to prepare a draft of the Council goals, differentiating between
goals and budgeting items. The Hugo City Council scheduled the follow-up meeting on
February 15, 2011 after the HBA/NBUEDA Business Networking Breakfast meeting.
Administrative Intern Jill Van DenHeuvel presented the draft comprehensive list of goals to the
Council that showed which goals were not specifically budged for fiscal year 2011 as well as the
goals that were recognized by two or more commissions.
As Council discussed these goals, Community Development Director Bryan Bear prepared the
new 2011 City Focus Goals list grouped together by category as well as a 2011 Ongoing
Priorities list. Staff was directed to prepare and revise, as necessary, the list with suggested
target dates for completion. Council will formally adopt goals after discussion with the Fire
Department.
Petryk made motion, Klein seconded, to adjourn at 10:45 a.m.
