Minutes for the Emergency Preparedness Press Conference

On Thursday, October 6, 2009, Farmers Insurance Company held a Press Conference and
Emergency Preparedness Exhibit featuring the latest in tornado/hail/storm response
technology at the Minnesota State Capital.
This was an informative event which highlighted the disaster response in Hugo. A
special invitation was extended to Mayor Fran Miron to speak at the press conference at
10:00 a.m. where he spoke of the May 25, 2008 tornado disaster in Hugo, emergency
response, and cleanup. A tour was provided in the latest state-of-the-art mobile
catastrophe center. The Mayor and City Administrator meet officials from Farmers
Insurance who were in Hugo days after the tornado disaster. Staff will mail them copies
of the tornado DVD.
Klein made motion, Weidt section to adjourn at 11:47 a.rn.
