A neighborhood meeting was held at the Oneka Elementary School to provide the residents with an
update on disaster recovery efforts.
Fran talked about his hospital visit to see Jerry Prindle. He spoke about their courage and strength and
asked everyone to keep them in their thoughts and prayers. He mentioned that a fund has been set up
in their name at US Bank. Fran also spoke about the current and ongoing collection of money into the
Hugo Relief Fund and that it will be used to help citizens rebuild.
Chris Petree talked about the debris removal and the importance to get it to the curb and have it
separated per the handout each resident has received. He also mentioned that on Saturday night the
clean-up crews will continue to keep hauling away debris.
Mike Ericson talked about credentialing and its importance for everyone's safety and protection of
personal belongings. Mike said that if anyone is having problems with contractors or insurance
adjusters they should contact the attorney generals office.
Nate Ehalt spoke about the clean up event on Saturday and the lost and found. People are encouraged
to accept help on Saturday from volunteers and that we are expecting around 1,000 volunteers. Family
and friends of residents also need to go through the Washington County Service center to gain entry
into the devastated area. This is to reduce the number of personal vehicles and for the safety of the
residents.
Questions were taken and answered at this time.
Council member Granger made motion, Petryk seconded to adjourn at 9:OOpm.
Respectfully Submitted,
Michael A. Ericson
City Administrator
