MINUTES FOR THE THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2008 NEIGHBORHOOD MEETING, <br />ONEKA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 7:OOPM <br />Present: Council Members Frank Puleo, Becky Petryk, Chuck Haas, City Administrator Mike <br />Ericson, Community Development Director Bryan Bear, Public Works Director Chris Petree, Nate <br />Ehalt, County Emergency Management Staff, media personnel. <br />Absent: Mayor Fran Miron and Council Member Mike Granger <br />A neighborhood meeting was held at the Oneka Elementary School to provide the residents with an <br />update on disaster recovery efforts. <br />Mike updated residents on the activities since yesterday. <br />Chris Petree talked about the debris removal and the importance to get it to the curb and have it <br />separated per the handout each resident has received. He also mentioned that on Saturday night the <br />clean-up crews will continue to keep hauling away debris. <br />Nate Ehalt spoke about the clean up event on Saturday and the lost and found. People are <br />encouraged to accept help on Saturday from volunteers and that we are expecting around 1,000 <br />volunteers. Family and Friends of residents also need to go through the Washington County <br />Service center to gain entry into the devastated area. This is to reduce the number of personal <br />vehicles and for the safety of the residents. He also mentioned that the food donation and pick up <br />center is moved to Schwieters warehouse which is directly south of the Fire Hall and that it will be <br />open on Saturday and Sunday for residents. <br />Questions were taken and answered at this time. <br />Council Member Puleo made motion, Haas seconded to adjourn at 8:OOPM <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Michael A.
