MeetingMINUTES FOR FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2008 STAFF AND COMMAND MORNING MEETING, HUGO CITY HALL, 8:OOAM The meeting was call to order by Acting Mayor Becky Petryk at 8:25 a.m. Present: Council Members Chuck Haas, Becky Petryk, and Frank Puleo, City Administrator Mike Ericson, Public Works Director Chris Petree, Nate Ehalt, Washington County Emergency Management personnel, volunteer agencies. Absent: Mayor Fran Miron, Council Member Mike Granger There will be a 2:OOpm afternoon meeting to discuss staging process for tomorrow's event. At this point there are no plans to have another clean-up day on Sunday. With the amount of anticipated volunteers, there should not be the need to have a second day. Volunteers will also blanket areas in Eastern Hugo to clean up littered areas from storm debris. Several land owners have been contacted and agreed to allow volunteers on their property to help clean. Signage for Saturday's event will be stationed this afternoon for traffic control. Volunteers will have two colors of wrist bands. Orange is for family and friends so they can get back into the area on Sunday. Yellow will be for all others and will only be allowed in on Saturday to help with the clean up. Deputies will continue to keep the area secured throughout the weekend. The area will be covered with mobile first aid stations in case the need arises. 800MHz Radios are being provided for the team leads in the field, which are the Hugo and other local area fire fighters, for contact throughout the day from the command post. Hugo Public Works Department will cover the eastern portion with trucks and trailers to keep moving trash from the fields to the roadside for pick-up. Washington County Sentence to Serve will pick up the trash from the roads on Sunday in Eastern Hugo. Sheriff Hutton spoke about the deputy coverage on Saturday.
