CITY OF HUGO <br />MINUTES FOR CITY COUNCIL MID -YEAR BUDGET REVIEW WORKSHOP <br />TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2008, 8:30 AM <br />Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 8:40 a.m. <br />PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron <br />ALSO PRESENT: Administrator Mike Ericson, Community Development Director Bryan Bear, and <br />Finance Director Ron Otkin <br />Presentation of Mid -Year Budget <br />Finance Director Ron Otkin presented the midyear review of the 2007 City budget to the Council. He <br />highlighted a report on the general fund, reserves, tornado costs, Pay 2009 budget estimates, 2008 City <br />focus goals, and the City's auditor's management letter. Revenues are on target with expenditures <br />closely monitored. Ron stated that with the current amount of residential and business activity in the <br />City, he is optimistic about 2009. <br />Ron discussed with the Council the auditor's letter and need to segregate more of the financial <br />department duties. Council asked a number of questions and they were answered by Ron. <br />Granger made motion, Haas seconded, to direct staff to prepare a job description for an accounting <br />technician position with Public Works clerical duties. <br />All Aye.
