RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING JIM COMPTON FOR HIS 35 YEARS OF
PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE HUGO FIRE DEPARMENT
CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton was hired by the Hugo Fire Department on June 1, 1977; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton became the first paramedic on the Hugo Fire Department in
1980; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton served as the Rescue Lieutenant from 1981 to 1984; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton served as the Captain from 1985 to 1986; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton served as President of the Hugo Firefighters Relief Association
from 1982 to 1984; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton served as Board of Trustee of the Hugo Firefighters Relief
Association from 1985 to 1990; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton served as the 2nd Assistant Chief from June 1986 to July 1990;
and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton served as 1" Assistant Chief from July 1990 to January 2002;
and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton served as an Ex Offico Member of the Hugo Firefighters Relief
Association from 2002 to 2012; and
WHEREAS, Fire Chief Jim Compton served as Hugo Fire Chief from January 2002 until his
retirement in 2012; and
WHEREAS, He is a well known and well respected leader on the Hugo Fire Department;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO,
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that the Hugo City Council officially recognizes Jim
Compton for his commitment and dedication on the Hugo Fire Department and publicly thank him for
his 35 years of dedicated public service to the City of Hugo.
Adopted and passed this 21" day of May, 2012 by order of the Hugo City Council.
