RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE HONORABLE SENATOR RAY VANDEVEER
FOR HIS 15 YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE AS REPRESENTATIVE AND SENATOR
SERVING THE CITIZENS OF HUGO, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, Senator Vandeveer served as the City of Hugo's Representative in the
Minnesota House of Representatives from February, 1998 — January, 2007;
and
WHEREAS, Senator Vandeveer served as the City of Hugo's Senator in the Minnesota
Senate from January, 2007 to present; and
WHEREAS, Senator Vandeveer led efforts in the legislature to reimburse the City of Hugo to
help rebuild following the tornado on May 25, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Senator Vandeveer led efforts with the legislature and Metropolitan Council to
resolve sewer capacity issues which allowed the City to continue growing; and
WHEREAS, Senator Vandeveer provided support for the Highway 61 intersection projects at
130' and 147" Streets; and
WHEREAS, Senator Vandeveer spearheaded legislative support of the City's efforts to
maintain equine operations as agriculture classification; and
WHEREAS, Senator Vandeveer has announced his intention to retire at the end of his term
and not seek reelection,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that the Hugo City Council officially
recognizes the Honorable Senator Ray Vandeveer for his commitment to outstanding
representation and for 15 years of excellent public service to the citizens of Hugo and, on
behalf of the entire City of Hugo, publicly thanks him for his dedication and service.
The Hugo City Council appreciates Honorable Senator Ray Vandeveer's leadership and wishes
him and his family well.
Adopted and passed this I" day of October, 2012 by order of the Hugo City Council.
