A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO
AUTHORIZING THE ADOPTION OF THE 2030 COMPRENSIVE PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Hugo initiated an update to its Comprehensive Plan in 2007,
consistent with the requirement in state law; and
WHEREAS, the City has held numerous open houses, workshops and meeting to discuss
each element of the plan; and;
WHEREAS, the City has communicated to residents, property owners and other
stakeholders through individual inquiries, mailed notices, newsletters, the City website
and news releases to local press; and;
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission reviewed the Comprehensive Plan at a duly called
Public Hearing and recommended approval to the City Council; and;
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the Comprehensive Plan on May 5`h, 2008 for
Metropolitan Council review; and;
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has reviewed and taken final action on the plan on
December 9, 2009 and found that the plan, with minor changes, meets all Metropolitan
Land Planning Act requirements, conforms to regional systems plans for transportation,
water resources management, and parks, and is compatible with the plans of adjacent and
affected jurisdictions; and;
WHEREAS, the City has made all requested changes to the plan in response to
Metropolitan Council guidance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA, that it should and hereby does adopt the 2030
City of Hugo Comprehensive Plan update.
WHEREUPON, a vote being taken upon the motion, the following members voted in
favor: Haas, Klein, Petryk, Miron
The following voted against: None
