CITY OF HUGO, MN
A RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE WASHINGTON COUNTY HISTORICAL
SOCIETY ON ITS 75H ANNIVERSARY.
WHEREAS, our history is the very foundation of our community, the story of all who have gone
before us; and
WHEREAS, the past is important to help explain the present and determine the course for the future;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Hugo, Minnesota was first established as Oneka Township in 1870 and
incorporated into the City of Hugo in 1972, with the people benefiting from the natural resources of the
land and water, and
WHEREAS, the member -driven Washington County Historical Society has been collecting, preserving
and sharing the history of the City of Hugo, Washington County and the state of Minnesota since 1934;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HUGO congratulates the
Washington County Historical Society on its 75th anniversary.
ADOPTED by the City Council this 2"d day of March, 2009.
