HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008.06.02 RESO 2008-0028RESOLUTION 2008-28 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING RETIREMENT OF TED BLAESING AS SUPERINTENDENT OF ISD #624 WHITE BEAR LAKE AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT WHEREAS, Ted Blaesing was hired by ISD # 624 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota in 1993; and, WHEREAS, Ted Blaesing was responsible for the overall operation of the eight elementary schools, two middle schools, two -campus senior high school, area learning center, and the early childhood/senior center that comprise the facilities of the White Bear Lake Area School District and, WHEREAS, Ted Blaesing oversaw the day-to-day activities of the district's 9,300 students and over 1,000 employees while managing the district's $70 million budget and, WHEREAS, Ted Blaesing inherited a School District mired in debt and has taken it to a healthy financial position to the benefit of the district's children, property owners and residents; and, WHEREAS, Ted Blaesing inherited a School District that did not have the trust of the community, and through his high ethical and professional standards and innovative leadership he has earned the trust of people and succeeded in building community and making the district a better place; and, WHEREAS, Ted Blaesing was instrumental in the passage of the 2003 Bond Referendum, said referendum being responsible for the construction of the $18 million dollar Oneka Elementary School in Hugo and the remodeling of the existing Hugo Elementary School; and WHEREAS, Ted Blaesing was the 2001 Minnesota Superintendent of the Year; and, WHEREAS, Ted Blaesing will be missed by all of the ISD #624 School District, and especially the citizens of the City of Hugo. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that the Hugo City Council officially recognizes and publicly thanks Ted Blaesing for his professionalism, commitment and loyalty to ISD # 624 White Bear Lake School District. Adopted and passed this 2nd day of June 2008 by order of the Hugo City Council. ATTEST: Michele Lindau, City Clerk
