RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING PETE PEDERSEN FOR HIS TEN YEARS OF
DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE PARKS, RECREATION, AND OPEN
SPACE COMMISSION FOR THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen was instrumental in the creation of the Hugo Parks, Recreation,
and Open Space Commission established by the City Council on July 20, 1998
and was an original charter member; and,
WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen served on the Parks and Recreation Commission from its first
meeting on July 30, 1998 to December 31, 2008 and served as its vice chair
for a period of time; and,
WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen was an active and involved commissioner who helped lead the
construction of several city parks including Lions, Hugo Elementary, Beaver
Ponds, Arbre, Oneka Lake, Diamond Point, Frog Hollow, Oneka Elementary,
Oakshore and the Rice Lake Park Athletic Complex; and,
WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen was an active and collaborative commissioner who worked with
the White Bear Lake Schools to provide recreational opportunities for the
Hugo youth; and,
WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen, as a community volunteer, has made the City of Hugo a better
place to live, work, shop, and play; and,
WHEREAS, Pete Pedersen, upon his retirement, will be deeply missed by the Parks and
Recreation Commission, City Council, City Staff, and members of the
Community; and,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that the Hugo City Council officially
recognizes Pete Pedersen for his accomplishments and publicly thanks him for his ten years of
dedicated public service to the City of Hugo.
Adopted and passed this 15th day of December 2008 by order of the Hugo City Council.
