HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008.12.15 RESO 2008-0058RESOLUTION 2008-58 RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING MIKE GRANGER FOR HIS EIGHT YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE ON THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA WHEREAS, Mike Granger was elected to the Hugo City Council in 2000 as a new Councilmember and served from January 1, 2001 to December 31, 2008; and, WHEREAS, Mike Granger served on the Economic Development Authority Commission from October 2004 to December 31, 2008; and, WHEREAS, Mike Granger was instrumental in the development and creation of the Public Works Department, Historical Commission, Economic Development Authority, Rice Lake Park Athletic Complex; and, WHEREAS, Mike Granger worked as an active and involved councilmember in accomplishing many significant public and development projects including: new city hall; new public works facility; fire department trucks; water tower and wells; 16 new neighborhoods; many new parks and miles of trails; attraction of many new businesses; CSAH 8/14 project; TH61 street improvements; improvements to Judicial Ditch #2; and, WHEREAS, Mike Granger volunteered and served on many important Council committees to improve quality of life issues, improve city ordinances, and plan for the thousands of new residents and businesses; and, WHEREAS, Mike Granger, upon his retirement, will be deeply missed by the City Council, Hugo City Staff, and members of the Community; and, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that the Hugo City Council officially recognizes Mike Granger for his accomplishments and publicly thanks him for his eight years of dedicated public service to the City of Hugo.
