A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION (MNDOT) CONDUCT A SPEED STUDY ON CITY
STREET
WHEREAS, the City does not believe that 55 mph is an appropriate speed for Elmcrest
Avenue North, from the intersection with 129 Street North to the
intersection with Jardin Avenue North, and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation sets the regulatory speed limit on this
street, and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Transportation may revise the speed limit on certain
streets upon completion of a speed study;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN:
That the City of Hugo requests the Commissioner of Transportation conduct a speed
study for the purpose of reducing the speed limit on Ehncrest Avenue North, from the
intersection with 129th Street North to the intersection with Jardin Avenue North.
Council member Fran Miron offered this resolution and was duly seconded by Council
member Becky Petryk;
Members voting AYE: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron
Members voting NAY: NONE
Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this 17th day of May 2004.
