A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FROM THE CITY OF HUGO FOR
THE PROPOSED WBL SCHOOLS BOND REFERENDUM
WHEREAS, the City of Hugo has seen a marked increase in the
construction of new homes over the past three years; and
WHEREAS, the Hugo Elementary School, with a capacity of 350,
has seen an increase in the student population to more than 515 students; and
WHEREAS, the use of the six temporary modular classrooms is an
expensive short-term solution; and
WHEREAS, The City of Hugo will donate 30 acres of land valued
at $2.5 million to build a new elementary school;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, That
the City of Hugo strongly supports the bond referendum endorsed by the
White Bear Lake School Board, which requests public support to construct a
new K-5 elementary school for 750 students, and the remodeling of the
existing Hugo Elementary School.
Passed and adopted this a day of October 2003.
