RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING WATER SERVICE RATES
WHEREAS, it has been determined that water rates should reflect true and actual
expenses incurred by the city for the service being provided; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to adjust the water rates to adequately finance the
operation, maintenance, and improvement of the municipal water system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hugo,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. Municipal water service rates for residential customers, including apartment
buildings, shall be set at $36.00 for the first 15,000 gallons of consumption plus
$1.50 per thousand for each thousand gallons or part thereof over 15,0000, gallons
up to 30,000 gallons per calendar quarter. Usage over 30,000 gallons per calendar
quarter shall be billed at $2.20 per thousand gallons or part thereof.
2. Municipal water service rates for churches, educational, institutional, commercial
and industrial customers shall be set at $12.00 for the first 5,000 gallons of
consumption plus $1.50 per thousand for each thousand gallons or part thereof
over 15,000 gallons per calendar quarter.
3. Municipal water service rates for irrigation meters shall be set at $2.20 per
thousand gallons or part thereof.
4. The water service rates established herein shall become effective for the utility
billing period ending 03/31/02 and shall continue in effect until altered by
resolution of the City Council or until otherwise altered by operation of law.
