HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000.06.19 RESO 2000-0020RESOLUTION 2000- .2Q CITY OF HUGO WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING OFFICIALS OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE A COST SHARING AGREEMENT WITH THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL FOR THE CENTERVILLE INTERCEPTOR EMPROVEMENTS PROJECT. WHEREAS, the City of Hugo, in order to provide local sewer service, has a need to provide trunk sanitarysewer facilities in areas adjacent to and tributary to the proposed Centerville Interceptor Improvements; and, WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council and the City of Hugo have determined the that it would be mutually beneficial to avoid construction of separate local trunk sewer and interceptor facilities; and, WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council provided capacity in their Centerville Interceptor Improvements to serve the trunk sanitary sewer needs of the areas adjacent to and tributary to the proposed Centerville Interceptor Improvements in the City of Hugo; and, WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has approved a Comprehensive Plan Amendment allowing City of Hugo sanitary sewer flows to discharge to the Centerville Interceptor; and, WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council, by action passed on March 22, 2000, authorized its Regional Administrator to negotiate and execute a cost sharing agreement with the City of Hugo to construct a facility to serve as a local trunk sewer and interceptor facility; and, WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has drafted a proposed agreement; and, WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has estimated the project cost to the City of Hugo at $82,000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, that the Mayor and City Administrator are authorized to execute the Agreement and any amendments to the Agreement.
