CITY OF HUGO
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY STAFF TO COMMENCE NECESSARY
PROCEEDINGS TO CONDEMN CERTAIN LAND WITHIN THE CITY FOR A PUBLIC
PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Hugo deems it in
the public purpose for the City to commence proceedings to condemn
certain land; and,
WHEREAS, specifically, the land to be condemned is
described as follows:
See Attached Exhibit "A"
and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City to condemn said
property for the purposes of obtaining a perpetual roadway and
utility easement over, under and across said land; and,
WHEREAS, it is the City's belief that it must obtain
possession of said land as soon as possible, and therefore, orders
and directs its City staff to begin condemnation proceedings and to
provide notice to the owners of the property, pursuant to Minnesota
Statutes Section 117.042, that it is the intent of the City to
obtain the necessary easement and possession of the property prior
to the filing of an award by the Court-appointed Commissioners.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council hereby authorizes and directs its
City Attorney and City staff and other agents and/or
representatives as may be necessary to commence and complete
eminent domain proceedings for the easement described herein.

1998.
