A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN APPLICATION FOR LOCAL PLANNING
ASSISTANCE GRANT AND DIRECTING IT SUBMISSION TO
THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
Whereas, the State of Minnesota has required cities in the metropolitan area to update and
revise their comprehensive plan, and
Whereas, the State has established a grant program, administered by the Metropolitan Council,
to assist cities in funding comprehensive plan development, revision, and amendment, and
Whereas, the City of Hugo has recently completed a revised Comprehensive Plan, which has
been submitted to the Metropolitan Council. for review and approval, and
Whereas, the City has incurred costs amounting to $61,212 to prepare the Plan, including
Sanitary Sewer and Water Supply Plan, and Water contingency Plan required by the
Metropolitan Council as part of the Plan amendment process,
Now, therefore, be # resolved by the City Council of the City of Hugo, Washington County,
Minnesota, that:
1. The attached Application for Local Planning Assistance Grant is approved,
2. The City Finance Director is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution and Grant
request to the Metropolitan Council by July 18, 1997.
3. The City Administrator shall have authority to enter into a Grant Agreement with the
Metropolitan Council for reimbursement of the City's expenses in preparing its revised
Comprehensive Plan.
Upon call, members voting AYE: Debra Barnes, Andrew Goiffon, James Leroux, Fran Miron
Upon call, members voting NO: Debi Johnson
Whereupon the resolution was declared passed and adopt 16th day of July, 1997.
