HomeMy WebLinkAbout1996.02.20 RESO 1996-0001RESOLUTION 96-1 WHEREAS, the City of Hugo, in cooperation with the City of Lino Lakes, has prepared a comprehensive storm water management plan for that portion of Clearwater Creek lying within the two communities, and WHEREAS, the City desires to preserve the environmental qualities of the Creek and adjacent wetlands for the benefit of our citizens and the natural environment, and WHEREAS, there is potential use of this corridor to serve the recreational needs of our community, and WHEREAS, the cities of Hugo, Centerville, and Lino Lakes, as well as the Rice Creek Watershed District, have agreed to cooperatively pursue the preservation, maintenance, and improvement of this area for storm water management, environmental, and recreational uses; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, That the application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for assistance in securing the corridor along Clearwater Creek from Bald Eagle Lake to Centerville Lake, and to develop and preserve this "greenway" for water resource, environmental, and public recreational use is hereby approved. FURTHERMORE, the City Council directs Mr. Peter Willenbring, the City's Water Resource Engineering Consultant, to submit such application to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Upon roll call, members voting AYE: Debra Barnes, Andrew Goiffon, James Leroux, Fran Miron ABSTAINED: Marvin LaValle Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this 20th day of February, 1996.
