RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO NEGOTIATE
THE PURCHASE OF APPROXIMATELY 80 ACRES OF REAL PROPERTY
FOR THE PURPOSE OF EXPANDING THE BALD EAGLE INDUSTRIAL PARK.
WHEREAS, the City of Hugo^s Comprehensive Plan calls for the City of Hugo
to promote the economic development of the community in order to provide
jobs for residents, increase the City's industrial/commercial tax base,
and provide for the general welfare; and,
WHEREAS, A number of businesses have expressed interest in locating in the
City of Hugo due to availability of rail service and their need to expand
their facilities; and..
WHEREAS, a report commissioned by the City Council determined the
feasibility of expanding the Bald Eagle Industrial Park to provide space
for these businesses;
NOW, THEREFORE,BEIT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO,
WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA, That the City Administrator is directed to
negotiate the purchase of approximately eighty (80) acres of property
within the boundaries of TH 61, 140th Street, proposed Falcon Ave., and
the existing Bald Eagle Industrial Park; and
FURTHERMORE, The City Administrator is directed to negotiate sales
contracts with businesses having expressed interest in locating in the
Park; and
FURTHERMORE, That all such proposed agreements shall be conditioned upon
the City entering into an agreement with the Minnesota Commercial Railroad
for continued rail service to the Park, and also Council review and
approval of all agreements.
Council members voting AYE: Tim Agness, Debra Barnes, Andrew Goiffon,
James Leroux, Fran Miron
Voting NAY: NONE
Whereupon said resolution was declared passw��and adspted this 16th day of
September, 1996.
