WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION NO. 1995- 19
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FEES FOR G.I.S MAP SALES
WHEREAS, the City has. developed a G.I.S. Land Mapping
Program at a significant expenditure of public funds (approximately
$200.00 per acre); and
WHEREAS, the maps and information produced by the G.I.S.
System are a substantial and discreet portion of the G.I.S.
program, having commercial value to members of the public for use
in private development; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Hugo has the authority pursuant to
Minnesota Statutes §13.03, Subd. 3, to charge a reasonable fee when
providing to the public information having commercial value which
is part of a data base or system developed with a significant
expenditure of public funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, based upon the foregoing, the following
Resolution was duly made, seconded and approved:
1. That the City Staff is hereby directed to establish
fees which are clearly and demonstrably related to the actual
development of the G.I.S. information and maps.
2. That when a person's request for G.I.S. information
or maps involves a receipt of copies of such information or maps,
the City Staff is hereby directed to charge, in addition to the
costs of making, certifying and compiling the copies of the maps or
information, a reasonable fee for the maps or information.
3. That the fees so charged shall be demonstrably
related to the actual development costs of the G.I.S. maps or
information.
WHEREUPON, a vote being taken upon the motion, the
following members voted in favor: Barnes, Goiffon, LaValle, Leroux, Miron
The following voted against: NONE
6th WHEREUPON, said motion was declared duly passed this
day of November 1995.
