HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993.05.03 RESO 1993-0006RESOLUTION 1993-6 ^ RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR 130TH STREET AND FARNHAM AVENUE AND CONNECTION OF A DEEP WELL AND STORAGE TOWER TO EXISTING SYSTEM ALL IN THE BALD EAGLE INDUSTRIAL PARK WHEREAS, Pursuant to a resolution passed by the City Council on April 19, 1993, the City Engineer, Howard Kuusisto, has prepared plans and specifications for the improvement of 130th Street from the west line of Falcon Avenue to the east line of the Burlington Northern Railroad right-of-way, and on Farnham Avenue from the north line of 130th Street to the north line of 128th Street, by the installation of municipal water service, and has presented such plans and specifications to the City Council for approval; WHEREAS, The Hugo City Council accepted the City Engineer's report dated July, 1991, for construction and installation of a twelve (12") watermain to allow direct connection of the existing storage tower and deep well to the storage tower and deep well being constructed in the Bald Eagle Industrial Park; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA: 1. Such plans and specifications, a copy of which is on file and made part hereof, are hereby approved. 2. The City Clerk shall prepare and cause to be inserted in the official paper, and Construction Bulletin, an advertisement for bids upon the making of such improvement under such approved plans and specifications. The advertisement for bids shall be published twice, shall specify the work to be done, shall state that bids and the bid responsibility of the bidders will be considered by the Council at 7:05 PM on June 7, 1993, in the Council chambers on the City Hall, and that bids will be received by the City Clerk until 2:00 PM on May 28, 1993, at which time they will be publicly opened in the Council chambers on the City Hall, by the City Administrator, and will then be tabulated, and will be considered by the City Council as stated herein. Any bidder whose responsibility is questioned during consideration of the bid will be given an opportunity to address the Council on the issue of responsibility. No bids will be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk and accompanied by a cash deposit, cashier's check, bid bond or certified check payable to the City of Hugo for 5% of the amount of such bid. Upon roll call, voting AYE: Barnes, Brunotte, Miron, Stoltzman Voting NAY: NONE Whereupon said resolution was declared passed and adopted this 3rd day of May, 1993.' Walter L.
