HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991.05.20 RESO 1991-0007RESOLUTION 1991-7 RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID FOR THE CITY'S CIP PROJECT, PHASE 2 PROJECT #1991-1 WHEREAS, Pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of 130th Street from County State Aid Highway #8A west to Irish Avenue, Irish Avenue from 130th Street south to County State Aid Highway #7, 125th Street from Goodview Avenue east to Homestead Drive, 132nd Street from Goodview Avenue east to County Road #8A, Homestead Avenue from 132nd Street north to 147th Street, Henna Avenue (aka 128th Street) from 132nd Street south to Hilo Avenue, and Hilo Avenue from Henna Avenue (aka 128th Street) south to 125th Street, by the improvement of bituminous surfacing and related improvements, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: Valley Paving. Inc. $851v761.06 Tower Asphalt, Inc. $1,004,072.05 Alexander Construction, Inc. $1,008,661.62 Hardrives, Inc. $1,051.517.54 WHEREAS, it appears that Valley Paving, Inc., of 8800 13th Avenue East, Shakopee, MN., is the lowest responsible bidder; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO., WASHINGTON, MINNESOTA: 1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into the contract with Valley Paving, Inc., of Shakopee, MN., in the name of the City of Hugo, for the improvement of 130th Street from County State Aid Highway #BA west to Irish Avenue, Irish Avenue from 130th Street south to County State Aid Highway #7, 125th Street from Goodview Avenue east to Homestead Drive, 132nd Street from Henna Avenue east to County Road #8A, Homestead Avenue from 132nd Street north to 147th Street, Henna Avenue (aka 128th Street) from 132nd Street south to Hilo Avenue, and Hilo Avenue from Henna Avenue (aka 128th Street) south to 125th Street, by the making of street and related improvements according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, accept that the deposit of the successful bidder, and the next lowest bidder, shall be retained until a contract has been signed. 3. The City Administrator is authorized to approve individual Change Orders during the course of construction, in an amount not to exceed $5,000, to expedite the making of these improvements, and the City Engineer shall provide daily inspection during the course of construction as deemed necessary.
