RESOLUTION ENACTING THE "LOCAL OPTION SALES TAX" AS <br />PROVIDED IN THE 1991 OMNIBUS TAX BILL <br />WHEREAS, the Omnibus Tax Bill passed by the 1991 Minnesota State <br />Legislature increases the sales tax rate from 6% to 6.5% effective July 1. <br />1991, and <br />WHEREAS, each county must act by July 1. 1991, to enact the sales tax <br />for the time period beginning January 1. 1992, or face elimination of all <br />state provided local government aid, homestead and agricultural credit <br />aid, and other aids identified in the bill; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGOV <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA: That the City of Hugo urges the Washington <br />County Board of Commissioners to enact the "Local Option Sales Tax" as <br />provided in the 1991 Omnibus Tax Bill. <br />Upon roll call, members voting AYE: Brunotte, Jesinski, McAllister,, <br />Miran, Stoltzman <br />Voting NAY: None <br />Whereupon said resolution was -declared passed and adopted this 3rd day of <br />June, 1991. <br />Walter L.
