HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991.08.19 RESO 1991-0015RESOLUTION 1991-15 RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT FOR CIP PROJECT PHASE 2 STREET IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, a contract has been let, and costs have been determined, for the improvement of 130th Street from County State Aid Highway #8A west to Irish Avenue, Irish Avenue from 130th Street south to County State Aid Highway #7, 125th Street from Goodview Avenue east to Homestead Drive, 132nd Street from Henna Avenue east to County Road #8A, Homestead Avenue from 132nd Street north to 147th Street, Henna Avenue (aka 128th Street) from 132nd Street south to Hilo Avenue, and Hilo Avenue from Henna Avenue (aka 128th Street) south to 125th Street, by the improvement of streets and related improvements, and the contract bid price for said improvements is , and the expenses incurred or to be incurred in the making of such improvement amount to $207,429.95 so that the total cost of the improvement will be $887,749.68. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA: 1. The portion of the cost of such improvement be paid by the City is hereby declared to be , and the portion of the cost to be assessed against benefited property owners is declared to be $293,442.00. 2. Assessments shall be payable in equal annual installments extending over a period of 15 years, the first of the installments to be payable on or before the 1st Monday in January, 1992, and shall bear interest at the rate of 8% per annum from the date of adoption of the assessment resolution. 3. The City Clerk, with the assistance of the consulting engineer, shall forthwith calculate the proper amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece, or parcel of land within the district affected, without regard to case valuation, as provided by law, and she shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in the office for public inspection. 4. The Clerk shall, upon the completion of such proposed assessment, notify the Council thereof.
