HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990.01.02 RESO 1990-0001RESOLUTION 1990-1 RESOLUTION DECLARING COST TO BE ASSESSED AND ORDERING PREPARATION OF PROPOSED ASSESSMENT FOR CAPITAL IMPROVE- MENT PROJECT PHASE 1 #5-2-88(B) WHEREAS, a contract has been let and costs have been determined for the improvement of Oneka Lake Boulevard from 200' east of Geneva Avenue easterly to Harrow Avenue, Harrow Avenue from 157th Street north to 165th Street, Goodview Avenue from County Road 8A to the south corporate limits, Falcon Avenue from 124th Street south to 120th Street, 177th Street from State Aid Highway 61 to Greystone Avenue, 130th Street from State Highway 61 east to Goodview Avenue, and Hyde Avenue from 147th Street south approximately .4 miles, and the 146th Street and 147th Street railroad crossings, by the improvement of street surfacing and related improvements; and the contract price for such improvement is $619,179.38, and the expenses incurred, or to be incurred, in making such improvements is $135,580.46 so that the total cost of the improvement will be $754,759.84; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA: 1. The portion of the cost of such improvements paid by the City is hereby declared to be $529,134.44, and the portion of the cost to be assessed to the benefited property owners is declared to be $225,625.40. 2. Assessments shall be payable in annual installments extending over a period of 15 years, the first of the installments to be payable on or before the 1st Monday in January, 1991, and shall bear interest at the rate of 9% per annum from the date of adoption of the assessment resolution. 3. The City Clerk, with the assistance of the City's consulting engineers, shall forthwith calculate the proper amount to be specially assessed for such improvement against every assessable lot, piece or parcel of land in the district affected, without regard to cash valuation, as provided by law, and he shall file a copy of such proposed assessment in his office for public inspection. 4. The Clerk shall upon the completion of such proposed assessment, notify the Council thereof.
