RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS FOR HOMESTEAD DRIVE PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
NUMBER 1987-30-0.
WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the improvement of
125th Street from County Road 10 north to Homestead Drive, and Homestead
Drive from 125th Street north to 130th Street North, and 130th Street from
Homestead Drive east to its termination by the improvement of bituminous
surfacing, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and
the following bids were received complying with the advertisement: T.A.
Schifsky - $52,550.00, Valley Paving, Inc. - $59,941.50, W.H. Miller, Inc.
$62,365.00, Northwest Asphalt, Inc. - $63,836.25, Alber Constrcution --
$63,914.00, Forest Lake Contracting - $64,273.25, Tower Asphalt --
$66,732.50, Alexander Construction - $72,615.00, and Ashbach Construction
$79,822.24.
AND WHEREAS, it appears that T.A. Schifsky & Sons of North St. Paul,
Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO,
MINNESOTA:
1. The mayor and clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into
the attached contract with T.A. Schifsky & Sons of North St. Paul,
Minnesota and the City of Hugo for the improvement of 125th Street
from County Road 10 north to Homestead Drive, and Homestead Drive from
125th Street north to 130th Street North, and 130th Street from
Homestead Drive east to its termination by the improvement of
bituminous surfacing according to the plans and specifications
therefor approved by the city council and on file in the office of the
city clerk, within 90 days of this approval pending any assessment
appeals.
2. The city clerk.is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith
to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the
deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be
retained until a contract has been signed.
Upon roll call the following members voted AYE: Theodora Peltier, Arthur
Potts, Robert Olson, Deane Vail, George Atkinson
Upon roll call the following members voted NAY: NONE
ADOPTED AND PASSED THIS 4TH DAY OF JANUA , 1988
