WHEREAS, on Sunday, January 9, 1983 the City of Hugo was
without water due to a break in a main line; and
WHEREAS, its mayor did attempt to contact three contractors
who could perform the necessary work, LaMetti and Sons,
LaValle Excavating and Ro-So Inc. and none were available;
and
WHEREAS, its Mayor did then declare an emergency under
Minnesota statute 12.29 and contract with A & B Construction
of Hugo to perform said repairs; and
WHEREAS, the owner of A & B Construction Company is Mr. Dean
Atkinson, a duly elected council member of this city; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Atkinson has submitted an itemized claim in the
amount of $1,220.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council does hereby
authorize payment of the claim;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the City Council directs the clerk
to forward copies of this resolution and theitemized state-
ment to the following;
1. By registered mail to the state auditor, Arne Carlson.
2. By regular mail to the City Attorney, City Engineer,
official newspaper and the audit firm for 1983 (when
selected).
Adopted and passed this 7th day of February , 1983.
