A RESOLUTION THAT THE ACT TO EXPAND THE WASHINGTON COUNTY BOARD
OF COMMISSIONERS FROM FIVE TO SEVEN MEMBERS IS NOT IN THE BEST
INTEREST OF THE PEOPLE IN WASHINGTON COUNTY.
The City Council of the City of Hugo determines that:
WHEREAS, a bill for an act to expand the Washington County Board
of Commissioners from five (5) to seven (7) members has been introduced
into the Minnesota Legislature; and
WHEREAS, the City of Hugo, after investigation and consideration,
has determined it not be in the best interest of the people in Washington
County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: that the City Council
of the City of Hugo hereby expresses its opposition to said bill, iden—
tified as S.F. 1966 and H.F. 1740, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: that copies of this Resolution be forwarded
to the Washington County Board, Senator Jerome Hughes, Representative
Michael George, and to Chairperson, Representative Berg, of the legislative
committee considering this matter.
