HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975.05.05 RESO 1975-28RESOLUTION NO. 1975- 28 A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING SANITARY SEWER USE RATES FOR PREMISES SERVED BY THE SEWERAGE SYSTEM, AS REQUIRED BY HUGO CITY CODE CHAPTER 262. The City Council of the City of Hugo determines that: WHEREAS, the City of Hugo has and will continue to incur costs for the operation of the sanitary sewer system servicing a part of the City of Hugo; and WHEREAS, the City of Hugo has and will continue to incur costs for the operation of the Interceptor Collector and the treatment facilities, said costs to be paid to the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it expedient and economic to determine the sewerage use rates quarterly, and to bill users quarterly for use of the sanitary sewer system; and WHEREAS, the City Council determines that it is desirable to calculate the sewerage use rate based upon a single-family living unit, or multiples thereof, as determined by the City of Hugo; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. All users of the Sanitary Sewer System shall be billed quarterly. 2. Sanitary sewer users connected to city water system and having the City water usage metered, shall be charged for use of the sanitary sewer system, the sum of $13.50 times the number of living units equivalent plus 1000 of the water charge over the minimum charge established for the winter quarter, the amount so established to be charged quarterly. 3. Sanitary Sewer users connected to the City water system, but unmetered, shall be charged for the use of the sanitary sewer system, the sum of $13.50 times the number of living units equivalent, the amount so established to be charged quarterly. 4. Sanitary sewer users not connected to the City water system shall be charged for the use of the sanitary sewer system, the sum of $13.50 times the number of living units equivalents, and the amount so established to be paid quarterly; and, in the event the private water supply is metered, or the sewerage flow is metered, the equivalent of the additional charge defined in paragraph 2 shall be added and paid quarterly. 5. For purposes of calculation of the sanitary sewer use rate, each fractional living unit equivalent, as may be _calculated from time -to -time, shall be treated as a whole living unit. In lieu of de- termining a number of living unit equivalents, the number of sewer availability charges (SACs) for the property may be used as the number of living units for calculating the use rate. 6.
