RE: DOWNTOWN PLAN
Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting at 7:00 pm in the Oneka Room at Hugo City Hall.
PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron
City Administrator Mike Ericson, CD Director Bryan Bear, and City Planner Kendra Lindahl
EDA COMMISSIONERS: Janice Arcand, Tom Denaway, Phil Klein, Jim Bever, and Mike
Granger and Fran Miron
City Administrator Mike Ericson addressed the standing -room only crowd in the Oneka Room,
thanking them for attending this special Open House to present the City's downtown
redevelopment plan, downtown market study, and information about tax increment financing.
He introduced EDA Vice President Phil Klein, who welcomed everyone and thanked them for
their interest and involvement in the City's new downtown redevelopment plan. Phil explained
that this was an opportunity for affected property and business owners to give their feedback on
the proposed redevelopment plan and suggested funding methods. Phil stated that three stations
had been designed to allow review and comment from residents, as well as to ask questions of
staff. Mayor Fran Miron also welcomed the more than 135 attendees stating that there were
coffee and cookies available and a PowerPoint slide show of the downtown plan playing in the
Council Chambers. Staff and consultants spoke to residents and business owners in groups and
individually, and they moved from one station to the next. The feedback from the general public
was supportive of the plan. Residents were also encouraged to take home their community
guidebooks and call any of the City officials listed on the enclosed City contact list.

Granger made motion, Puleo seconded, to adjourn at 9:00 pm.
