Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 8:47 am.
PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron
City Administrator Mike Ericson and Finance Director Ron Otkin
PRESENTATION OF PROPOSED 2007 CITY TAX LEVY RATE
The Hugo City Council scheduled this workshop in order to provide direction to staff regarding the
proposed City tax levy rate for 2007. Finance Director Don Otkin presented a PowerPoint slide
show highlighting the City's bonded indebtedness, past seven years of tax rate information, and
suggested budget targets for 2007.
COUNCIL DIRECTION TO STAFF
Council agreed to direct the finance director to draft a resolution setting the 2007 City tax levy at the
maximum amount, as prescribed in the City's Fiscal Management Policy. This levy needs to be
certified to the State by September 15, 2006.
DISCUSSION ON GREEN ACRE ASSESSMENTS
Finance Director Ron Otkin presented the Council with a list of residents, who deferred assessments
on public improvement projects by placing their property in Green Acres. There are four residents
who are no longer on Green Acres and thus will receive payment -due letters, with a deadline of
November 15, 2006. No formal Council action was required.

Haas made motion, Granger seconded, to adjourn at 9:37 am.
