OCTOBER 25, 2005
Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 3:00 pm.
PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron
City Administrator Mike Ericson, CD Director Bryan Bear, CD Intern, Andy Gitzlaff, and City
Planners Kendra Lindahl and Sarah Schield from Landform
PLANNING COMMISSION: Dave Schumann and Victoria Hoftbeck
ABSENT: Kleissler, Rosenquist, Bailly, Weidt, and McRoberts
This joint Council and Planning Commission meeting was called by the Hugo City Council to discuss
multi -family housing design guidelines.
City Planning Kendra Lindahl delivered a PowerPoint presentation explaining the draft guidelines,
which were shared with the City Council and Planning Commission. The draft was prepared by
Landform and it was meant as a starting point for discussion on the issues. Kendra also shared a
number of photos which highlighted what Council liked in residential developments, but more
importantly, what staff heard they didn't like. Both Council members and Planning Commissioners
agreed that draft guidelines were well prepared, but additional work needs to be done. Council
directed staff to schedule a bus tour to review developments for ideas and improvements to the
guidelines.
There will be an Open House on November 16, 2005 at 6:00 pm, Hugo City Hall, where residents and
business owners are invited to share their comments and concerns.
Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to adjourn at 5:25 pm.
