MINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 16.2002 Mayor Fran Miron called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. PRESENT: Granger, Haas, Petryk, Puleo, Miron City Administrator, Michael Ericson CD Director, John Rask City Attorney, Dave Snyder City Engineer, Dave Mitchell Water Resource Engineer, Pete Willenbring City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF AUGUST 26.2002 Haas made motion, Puleo seconded, to approve the meeting minutes for the special City Council meeting of August 26, 2002 as presented. All aye. Motion Carried AW4UTES FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 3.2002 Haas made motion, Petryk seconded, to approve the meeting minutes for the Council meeting of September 3, 2002 as presented. All aye. Motion Carried. APPROVAL OF AGENDA Add F.3 — Presentation by Washington County Sheriff Jim Frank Add K.2 — Update on Transfer of Development Rights Committee Add L.3 — Inquire if Council will be attending 2002 County League of Local Governments on 9/30/02 Move K.1 to FA — Request for Signage from Owner of Bald Eagle Boats 8t Rental Miran made motion, Haas seconded, to approve the agenda for September 16, 2002 as amended. All aye. Motion Carried. REMEMBRANCE OF SEPTEMBER 11.2001 Mayor Fran Miron led the Council in a brief remembrance of the events that occurred on September 11, 2001. City Administrator Mike Ericson shared a poignant PowerPoint presentation of pictures associated with the event. This brief ceremony was an opportunity to remember those individuals who lost their lives and to reflect on the sacrifice and service of all police and fire employees. PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION BY W. C. SHERIFF JIM FRANK Washington County Sheriff Jim Frank recognized 12 -year old Garrett Griffith for bravery when his babysitter experienced a seizure. He was able to assist her until help came, as well as take care of his 18 -month old triplet sisters. A Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Garrett.
