A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AN EXTENSION OF TIME FROM THE METROPOLITAN
COUNCIL FOR THE FILING OF THE COMPREHENSIVE MUNICIPAL PLAN FOR
THE CITY OF HUGO, MINNESOTA.
The City Council of the -City of Hugo, Washington County,
Minnesota, determines that:
WHEREAS, the Land Planning Act of the•State of Minnesota
requires the filing of a Comprehensive Municipal Plan pursuant to
an approved System Statement, the Act requiring filing on or before
July 1, 1980;
WHEREAS, the System Statement for the City of Hugo
has not been finally approved and is in a Reconciliation Procedure;
WHEREAS, the City of Hugo has entered into an Agreement
with the Washington County Manning Department for assistance in
preparation of the Comprehensive Municipal Plan for the City of
Hugo;
WHEREAS, the planning process is proceeding while the
System Statement is being reconciled, and has been partially
completed, and preparation.is continuing;
WHEREAS, -the City of Hugo anticipates that at least six
(6) months will be required for the completion of said Reconciliation
Procedure to obtain a finalized System Statement and for the
completion of the preparation of the. -Comprehensive Municippl Plan
and the hearings and review incidental to its finalization for
submission to the Metropolitan Council; and
WHEREAS, said Land Planning Act provides for up to six
(6) months review after submission to adjacent communities and
affected school districts and municipal bodies;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council requests
an extension of time of one (1) year from and after July 1. 1980,
for the filing of its Comprehensive Municipal*Plan pursuant:to the
Land Planning Act of the State of Minnesota comprising six (6)
months for the finalization of the Comprehensive Municipal Plan and
the :Finalization of the Reconciliation Procedure for its System
Statement, and six (6) months for circulation of the draft Plan
for approval and comment of affected municipal bodies and school
districts; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon passage and adoption of
the within Resolution the Clerk is authorized and directed to cause

a certified copy of this Resolution to be filed with the Metro-
politan Council; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Hugo understands
that it shall not be required to comply with changes or additional
requirements of law or regulation applicable to the preparation
and presentation of Comprehensive Municipal Plan other than those
rules and regulations in force and effect immediately prior to
July 1, 1980, by reason of submitting this Request for Extension of
Time, the Metropolitan Council having been put on notice of the
request by letter of June 27, 1980.
Adopted and passed by the City Council this day
of July, 1980.
