HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000.03.07 CC Minutes - City Administator searchMINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF MARCH 7, 2000 Mayor Walter Stoltzman called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk Stoltzman Mark Sathe and Bob Benson of Sathe and Associates The purpose of this special meeting was to short-list the finalists for City Administrator. Mr. Sathe explained the reason for meeting with a candidate this evening, stating that the candidate had another interview in Missouri on Saturday. He also outlined the interview point system — (1-10), and the round-robin approach. The morning interviews were on an individual basis, and afternoon a group interview. A "perfect score" interview would be 60 points: ten points per question and ten points for morning interview. Mr. Sathe then reviewed Title 7, which states that there will be no discrimination on age, race, sex, ethnic background, etc. If there are doubts about a certain question, don't ask. Mr. Oliver Merriam arrived at 7:10 pm for his meeting with the City Council. He reviewed his experience in the area of public administration. Mayor Stoltzman distributed draft copies of Ordinance 2000- and Ordinance 2000-336 for Council review. The Council then reviewed the applications to short-list the candidates. The Council narrowed the field to five candidates to be interviewed on Saturday, March 11, 2000. After Council discussion of general areas of questions, actual questions were decided upon. Barnes made motion, Leroux, seconded, to adjourn at 9:30 pm. All aye. Motion Carried. Becky Petryk Recording Secretary
