Mayor Walter Stoltzman called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm., at the Rice Lake Park
Building.
PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman
City Administrator, Michael Ericson
Community Development Director, John Rask
City Engineer, Dave Mitchell
Fire Chief, Joe McMahon
The City Administrator added two items to the agenda for discussion: 1) date and time
to discuss the design and footprint of the new City Hall; and 2) report on power failure
and backup in lift station # 1.
Mayor Stoltzman stated that the purpose of the meeting was to brainstorm to develop
ideas for site locations for the construction of a new City Hall. Len Pratt, developer for
Victor Gardens, gave a presentation, as he offered free land in Victor Gardens for the
new City Hall.
Four suggestions for site locations for the new City Hall were offered: property in
Victor Gardens; property to the east of current City Hall; Roy Molitor property; and
140'' Street (Oman/Dougherty property).
The Council then discussed setting a time and date for the City Hall Building
Committee to set a footprint for the proposed building.
Haas made motion, Leroux seconded, to schedule a meeting of the City Council for
September 11, 2000, Hugo City Hall, at 5:00 pm, to review the matrix for the four site
options. There will be a discussion afterwards on the footprint.
All aye. Motion Carried.
City Administrator, Mike Ericson, provided Council with a brief explanation of the
power outage that caused a backup in lift station # 1.
Petryk made motion, Leroux seconded, to adjourn at 9:27 pm.
