HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999.10.25 CC MinutesMINUTES FOR THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF OCTOBER 25,1999 The Mayor reconvened the Council meeting of October 18, 1999, at 7:05 pm. PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman City Administrator, Robert Museus Water Resource Engineer, Pete Willenbring Attorney, Paul Haik The Council considered the recommendation of the City Engineer to accept the public improvements for Pineview Meadows as substantially complete. Council member Barnes indicated concern that west pond in the development may be too near the roadway curb, and requested that the City Engineer review this matter. Mayor Stoltzman stated he discussed street -base issues, and the need to clear out the storm holding ponds with the City Engineer. Barnes made motion, Haas seconded, to designate the public improvements in the Pineview Meadows subdivision as being substantially complete. All aye. Motion Carried. SHORT-LIST (ENGINEERING FIRMS) The Council then discussed those engineering firms that they wish to interview for the position of City Engineer for the City of Hugo. Stoltzman made motion, Leroux seconded, to conduct site visits with, and interview, Short Elliott Hendrickson, TKDA, WSB & Associates, and Bonestroo Rosene Anderlik & Associates for the position of City Engineer. All aye. Motion Carried. The Administrator requested that the Council consider a letter to Mr. Ted Mondale, Chairman of the Metropolitan Council, drafted by the City Engineer, stating that City's concern with the location of the metering station being installed on a new sewer main to be constructed along Elmcrest Avenue. The City Engineer's recommendation is to move the metering station from the north side of Clearwater Creek to the south side of the Creek in order to avoid having the City construct a lift station in the area. Barnes made motion, Leroux seconded, to approve sending the letter to Mr. Mondale. Leroux made motion, Haas seconded, to amend the motion to direct that copies of the letter be sent to Senator Jane Krentz and Representative Ray Vandeveer. VOTE ON AMENDMENT: All aye. Motion Carried. VOTE ON ORIGINAL MOTION: All aye. Motion Carried. Stoltzman made motion, Barnes seconded, to recess into executive session at 8:10 pm, in order for the Council to discuss JD2 litigation with the City's legal representative in this matter, Mr. Paul Haik.
