A special meeting of the Council was called to order by Mayor Stoltzman at 4:20 pm.
PRESENT: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman
City Administrator, Robert Museus
This special meeting was called to interview applicants to assist the City in selecting a new City
Administrator. The Council considered an amendment to the City's Personnel Policy establishing
public funding for an annual employee recognition dinner.
Leroux made motion, Barnes seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 1999-19, A RESOLUTION
AMENDING THE CITY'S PERSONNEL POLICY BY AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL
TO CONTRIBUTE PUBLIC FUNDS TO AN ANNUAL EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
DINNER.
VOTING AYE: Barnes, Haas, Leroux, Petryk, Stoltzman
Motion Carried.
Mark Sathe and Bob Benson with Sathe and Associates presented a proposal to the Council to
assist in the selection process for a new administrator for the City of Hugo. Mr. Sathe outlined the
process that his firm would use, and highlighted his expertise in assisting communities in executive
recruitment.
Mr. James Brimeyer of The Brimeyer Group, Inc., presented his firm's qualifications to assist the
Council in the selection of a new administrator, including the process he would recommend, a
suggested timetable, and a description of his experience in executive recruitment.
Following the presentations by the firms:
Haas made motion, Leroux seconded, directing the City Administrator to negotiate a Service
Agreement with Sathe and Associates to assist the City Council in the selection of a new
administrator.
All aye. Motion Carried.
Petryk made motion, Barnes seconded, to recess this meeting until 7:00 pm, November 29, 1999, in
order to discuss JD2 litigation.
All aye. Motion Carried.
