HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP
January 10, 2013
Call to Order
Chairman Gwynn called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm.
PRESENT: Gwynn, Lessard, Kleissler, Knauss, McRoberts, Rosenquist
ABSENT: Arcand
ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, City Administrator

Liz Hanson, Community Development Intern
2012 Annual Building Report
Intern, Liz Hanson, presented to the Planning Commission the 2012 Annual Building Report.
The report highlighted the building activity that occurred during 2012, which included the
number of residential permits issued as well as the non-residential construction projects
completed.
2013 Goal Setting
The Planning Commission discussed its goals for 2012.
2013 Planning Commission Goals
• Continue Discussion on City Identity
o Collaborate with other Commissions
o Set workshop on downtown commercial zoning districts
■ Review of the downtown plan
• Study and plan the northern gateway (170th and TH 61)
o Grant opportunities
• Zoning ordinance updates — Ordinance Review Committee (ORC)
• City Wide Bus Tour
• Connection of trail systems to commercial areas
o Victor Gardens, Downtown, Northern Gateway
• Stormwater Plan
• PC Training
o Planning Commissioner seminars
o Staff -led workshops to discuss procedures, land -use, zoning, etc.
o Create Planning Commissioners Handbook
