HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION WORKSHOP
February 28, 2013
Call to Order
Chairman Gwynn called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.
PRESENT: Arcand, Gwynn, Lessard, Kleissler, Knauss, McRoberts, Rosenquist
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, City Administrator
Rachel Juba, Planner
Liz Hanson, Community Development Intern
Review of Downtown Plan, Design Guidelines, and 2005 Maxfield Study
Planner, Rachel Juba, presented to the Planning Commission the Downtown Plan, Design
Guidelines, and 2005 Maxfield Study for downtown. She asked the Planning Commissioners if
they had any feedback.
The Planning Commissioners believed the plan and design guidelines are still relevant, but the
Maxfield study is outdated and could use modifications to be more current.
They discussed the importance of the availability of land, having businesses that attract local
residents, and maintaining four-sided architecture in the downtown area.
The Commission agreed that the downtown plan and design guidelines still provide proper
guidance for development in downtown Hugo.
Adjournment
Arcand motioned, Rosenquist seconded, to adjourn at 8:30 pm.
All Ayes, motion carried.
Meeting adjourned.
