HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008.09.25 PC MinutesMINUTES HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION September 25, 2008 Call to Order Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. PRESENT: Burmeister, McRoberts, Kleissler, Rosenquist, Schumann, and Weidt ABSENT: Moore ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant Rachel Simone, Associate Planner Approval of Minutes of August 28, 2008 Weidt made motion, Rosenquist seconded, to approve the Planning Commission minutes of August 28, 2008 as presented. All Ayes Abstain: Kleissler Motion carried. Bald Eagle Sportsman Association (BESA)— Amendment to the Special Use Permit Associate Planner, Rachel Simone gave a background to the Planning Commission on the applicants request to allow a permanent range office in place of the existing trailer and toilet facility. She explained that it meets the zoning requirements and that it does not significantly change the Special Use Permit use. Rachel further explained that Special Use Permits are subject to review every two years unless it is changed due to an amendment such as this. Staff recommends approval of the SUP Amendment Burmeister asked if the building would be 50 feet away from any well, and if it was possible to have a door in the back of the structure for exiting in the event of a fire. Bryan assured that staff would verify the location of the well and check the building for fire compliance before a building permit was issued. Schumann opened the Public Hearing. The Applicant, Allan Savage came forth and explained he had already received a plumbing permit from the state, which included an approval from the distance of the well. Rosenquist stated that he thought it was a good improvement and that a more permanent structure would help clean up the lot. Weidt motioned, McRoberts Seconded, to approve the SUP Amendment.
