HUGO PLANNING COMMISSION
OCTOBER 14, 2004
Call to Order
Chairman Schumann called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
PRESENT: Bailly, Hoffbeck, Malaski, McRoberts, Rosenquist, Schumann
ABSENT: Kleissler
ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director (CDD)
Kendra Lindahl, Planner
Michele Lindau, Community Development Assistant
Minutes of September 23, 2004
Malaski made motion, Bailly seconded, to approve the minutes of September 23, 2004 as
submitted.
Ayes: Bailly, Hoffbeck, Malaski, Schumann
Abstain: McRoberts, Rosenquist
Motion carried.
Landscape Ordinance Amendment
The Planner explained to the Commission that a committee had been established earlier in the
year to identify key issues and make a recommendation on an amendment to the landscape
ordinance.
Chair Schumann opened the public hearing. There were no comments and Schumann closed the
public hearing.
The Commission discussed the sizes, types, and amount of trees required in new developments,
and suggested that the common names of species be a part of the ordinance. The control and
enforcement of noxious weeds was also discussed as well as the amount of time landscaping must
be maintained. The Commission made minor changes to the draft ordinance.
Malaski made motion, Rosenquist seconded, to recommend approval of the amendments to the
Planning Commission Minutes — October 14, 2004
landscaping ordinance.
All Ayes. Motion carried.
November and December Meeting Dates
The Commission discussed changing the meeting dates in November and December because of
the holidays. The Commission agreed to hold one meeting each month, on November 11 and
December 9.
Malaski made motion, Bailly seconded, to hold the Planning Commission meetings on November
11 and December 9.
All Ayes. Motion carried.

Malaski made motion, Bailly seconded, to adjourn at 7:35 p.m.
