HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994.04.11 CC Minutes - City Engineer discussionMINUTES FOR THE SPECIAL HUGO CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF APRIL 11. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Stoltzman at 7:36 PM. PRESENT: Barnes, Brunotte, Leroux, Miron, Stoltzman City Administrator, Robert Museus City Engineer, Joel Dresel Mayor Stoltzman reconvened the City Council meeting of April 4, 1994 in order for the Council to discuss issues regarding the transition of city engineering services from Howard A. Kuusisto Consulting Engineers to OSM. The City Administrator requested that the Council consider a variance request from Paramount Structures, Inc., for construction of an oversized garage at 12175 Upper Heather Avenue. The builder requested action on the variance as soon as possible in order to start construction of the home during the week of April 11, 1994. Specifically, the request is for a variance to construct a garage of 1,300 square feet, where 1,000 square feet is permitted. Considering the large lot (five acres), the large home being constructed on the lot (2,600 square feet, 1st floor), the following motion was made: Stoltzman made motion, Barnes seconded, to approve the variance request to construct a 1,300 square foot oversized garage at 12175 Upper Heather Avenue. All aye. Motion Carried. COUNCILMAN MIRON ARRIVED AT 7:40 PM. The Council then discussed the transition of engineering duties to OSM, including exchange of information, responsibility for projects in progress, and priorities for near-term improvement and planning projects. The Council also discussed the processes to be used in administering future projects. At approximately 10:30 PM, the following motion was made: Leroux made motion, Brunotte seconded, to recess tonight's meeting until 7:30 PM, April 13, 1994. All aye. Motion Carried. Robert A.
