The meeting was called to order by Mayor Stoltzman at 8:40 PM.
PRESENT: Barnes, Leroux:. Stoltzman
City Administrator, Robert Museus
City Finance Director, Fon Otkin
City Fire Chief, Jim Wisner
ABSENT: Brunotte and Miron
Jim Wisner presented a fire department request for an increase budget
allocation to allow payment to fire fighters for attendance at drills,
increase instructional supplies, DOT testing of fire trucks, increase
standards for medical testing, and to meet increased training
requirements. The budget increase requested by Mr. Wisner amounts to
approximately $11,200.O0
The Council reviewed the amended general fund and debt service fund
budgets prepared by the Finance Director. (COUNCILMAN BRUNOTTE ARRIVED AT
9:10 PM.)
City Administrator, Robert Museus, presented a recommendation to end the
City's contract with the White Bear Lake Community Counseling Center due
to the availability of services from other sources.
The Administrator also presented a recommendation to hire a maintenance
supervisor for the City at an annual cost of $47,000 to $55,000 per year.
(COUNCILMAN MIRON ARRIVED AT 9:45 PM.)
The Council discussed the proposed budget and staff recommendations and
their impact on the City's property taxes.
Miron made a motion, Barnes seconded, to conduct a public hearing on the
City's budget at 7:00 PM, December 8, 1993, Hugo City Hall.
All aye. Motion Carried.
LeroUN made a motion, Stoltzman seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 93-11,
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A 9.25% INCREASE IN THE CITY'S TAX LEVY FOR 1994.
All aye. Motion Carried.
