EDA Vacancy Filled At its July 17 meeting, the Hugo City Council appointed Brian Thistle as a member of the City's Economic Development Authority (EDA). He takes over the term of departing EDA member Nick Skarich who resigned in June due to job reloca- tion. Thistle, who moved to Hugo last year, works in the High- x land Park office of Edina Realty. He and his wife,Lisa,are new parents to their son, Carter. "Part of the reason we moved to Hugo was because it is a growing area with a good school dis- trict,"he notes. Race Info: The 5K race starts at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 121h, and begins at Lion's Park behind Hugo City Hall. Race day race registration and packet pick up begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 8:15 a.m. Packets can also be picked up at Hugo City Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 11th. All participants will receive a Hugo 5K t-shirt, a participation ribbon, and awards will be given to the overall top ten males and females, as well as the top three finishers for each of the following age groups: 8-12,13-19, 20-34, 35-39,40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. Want fun for the whole family? Hugo will also be hosting the following great events: One Mile Run (9:45 a.m.):An event for the whole family! This run/walk follows the 5K course for—mile and returns to finish at the 5K finish line. Toddler Trot(10:15 a.m.):This mini race for ages 6 and under is approximately 50 yards long and will be held in Lions Park. Diaper Dash (10:30 a.m.): For those who"run"on their hands and knees. Participants of the diaper dash will crawl from an inner circle to an outer circle. Event takes place in Lions Park. Children in the One Mile Run,Toddler Trot,and Diaper Dash receive a special finisher ribbon and a participant t-shirt. All times are approximate.
