Automatic Aid Mutual Aid Fire departments create agreement to assist one another when/if asked to assist in emergency. Automatic Aid Fire departments create an agreement in which they automatically respond to an emergency without the extra step of being asked to assist. Current Agreements Currently, Hugo Fire Department (HFD) participates in Mutual Aid Agreements: All of Ramsey County All of Washington County Portions of Anoka County Portions of Dakota County Additional Agreements Exist Kevin Colvard, Hugo's Fire Chief, recommends working with other cities in Automatic Aid agreements. Through "Public Protection Classification (PPC), ISO may create a rating of 1-101 Class 1 being the best.2 "Most U.S. insurers of home and business properties use ISO's PPC in calculating premiums." Due to location of functioning municipal water supply and existing fire departments, the response time and the equipment responding will not likely greatly influence the rating.
