Mr. Stru b is requesting to reconstruct a deck in his rear yard , which
ahc.ttc• Sunset Lake. His existinq deck: w,_-as damaged beyond repair by a
fallen tree. His e�-,istinq deck:. is 53 feet from Sunset Lake. The required
setback for struct;_ores from the ordinary high eater mark:. -is i.#)O feet,,, OAFO/
reconstruction requires a variance, In this W case 47 feet. The proposed
reconstruction extend=_.- the two-l.evel deck 1.4 feet to the north.
Reconstruction removes a portion of the deck , which extends: 5 feet further

Dr . Bill -Barrett is requesting a variance to the rear yard setback to
construct a 30CY'D sq . ft . addition to the Hugo Chiropractic Clinic building
at 567771 147th St. The proposed addition would extend the e :i sti.r►q
k:+Ui.ldinq 75 feet east. The existing Structure is 3 ft. from the rear
progert•,. line. The proposed addition is de=igned to match front and raw Eir
bi..c:ildinq Lines. The requested 15 foot variance was in reference to the

east property line, which, as a side yard , would be within code
compliance. The request now becomes a 27 foot rear yard variance. The
additional 3000 sq . ft. office space would require 15 additional spaces,
totalling 31 spaces. Thirty are shown on the sketch plan .
Motion made by Goiffon , seconded by Brunotte to recommend approval of the
request of Dr. Bill Barrett, 5673 147th St. for a variance to construct an
addition to his building with a variance to rear yard setback (south
property line) of 27' subject to an approved site plan .

Galen Carlson , 5451 140th St. , is requesting a variance to extend the
width of the access driveway of North County Auto Body 18 feet (32 feet
wide to 50 feet) . The property is zoned industrial ; the use is
commercial . The proposed driveway would extend from the west property
line, 50 feet east. The parking area and driveway are currently compacted
dirt. Mr . Carlson stated that drivers are currently cutting the corner on
the property and there is a washout problem on the corner. Mr. Carlson
stated that the building is 40' wide and felt the 50' driveway would be
more aesthetically pleasing .
Motion made by Rubenzer, seconded by Goiffon to recommend approval of the
variance request of Galen Carlson , 5451 140th St. for a driveway 50' wide,
exceeding the 28' allowable width subject to the city attorney creating an
agreement which would require the driveway width being reduced to 28' when
140th St. is improved with curb and gutter.

Cindy Bellamy and Shirley Smith are requesting a variance to construct a
pole barn closer to Ingersoll Avenue then the primary residence. The
10-acre property is zoned conservancy . The proposed pole barn is 48' x
48' (2304 sq . ft. ) to be placed 44 feet from the front property line.
The location of the accessory building is dictated by the presence of a
large wetland area bisecting the property . The location of the house,
mound system, and well virtually eliminate the opportunity to construct
the building in the rear yard . The applicant' s have received approval
from Rice Creek Watershed District.
Motion made by Rubenzer, seconded by Goiffon to recommend approval of the
variance request of Cindy Bellamy and Shirley Smith, 17260 Ingersoll Ave.
to construct an accessory building closer to the road than the principal
residence.
