HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018.01.17 Park MinutesMinutes Meeting of January 17, 2018 Hugo City Hall, 7:00 pm Present: Roger Clarke, Mat Rauschendorfer, Nicole Schmid, Dave Strub, Ranell Tennyson Absent: Cathy Moore-Arcand Staff Present: Scott Anderson, Public Works Director Shayla Denaway, Parks Planner Debi Close, Secretary Strub called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm. 1. Approval of Mirl«tes from the December 20, 2017 Meeting Tennyson made a motion, Clarke seconded to approve the minutes of the December 20, 2017 Parks Commission meeting as presented. Ayes — Clarke, Schmid, Strub, Tennyson Abstained — Rauschendorfer Motion carried. :7. ,approve the 2018 Goals Parks Planner Shayla Denaway presented the 2018 Goals of the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Commission as drafted at the December 20th, 2017 meeting. The goals were focused on Trails, Irish Avenue Park, Lions Park, Recreation Programs, and plans/policies. Tennyson made a motion, Clark seconded to approve the 2018 Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission goals as drafted. All Ayes. Motion Carried. Approve the 2018 Capital Improvement Plan Denaway presented a draft of the Parks Capital Improvement Plan guiding use of the Special Park Fund. Projects identified and discussed included: Bald Eagle property improvements, Hanifl Fields lighting improvements, Clearwater Creek Preserve planning, Hardwood Creek Trail extension planning, park upgrades, trail improvements, Lions Park, and Irish Avenue Park vision development. Tennyson made a motion, Clark seconded to approve the drafted 2018 Parks Capital Improvement Plan with the discussed modifications. All Aye. Motion Carried. 4. Recreation Program Update Denaway updated on the recreation programs currently scheduled. Friday January 26, 2018 —Trolls (Family Movie Night) Friday February 9, 2018 — Despicable Me 3 (Family Movie Night) Monday February 26, 2018 - Z Juggling Rosenschnoz Friday March 23, 2018—The Boss Bay (Family Movie Night) The White Bear Lake Senior Center is leading a community conversation on dementia and one session will be held in the Hugo Oneka room on March 8. The Sledding Party will be scheduled at a later date depending on snow conditions. Schmid made a motion, Tennyson seconded to adjourn the meeting at 9:02 pm. All Ayes. Motion carried.
